Title: A real time optimistic approach for scheduling trucks in container terminals
Abstract: The imports and exports of the maritime containers are one of the major sources of contribution towards the growth of a country's economy. There are many container terminals found all around the world and all these terminals are competing with each other to become the top most terminals. This depends on the way the containers are handled. Some of the basic problems in harbours related to container handling are congestion, miscommunication and lack of automatic services. Such problems are most prevalent in Chennai ports. In order to minimize such problems in Chennai ports a real time optimistic approach is proposed. This approach focuses on scheduling the trucks properly using terminal operating system (TOS), so that the major hurdles are cleared. The manual operations in the container terminals which causes congestion miscommunications and time delay are solved by this system which helps the container terminals to perform more efficiently, thus reducing the cost and increasing the productivity of container handling logistics. As a result of this, our country's economic growth can be increased drastically.
