Abstract: Results of tests involving extrusion of fibrous concrete (FRC) indicate the feasibility of the process. Extrusion through a stationary die proves beneficial to the mechanisms governing material behavior. The results of flexure tests are considered for extruded steel and glass fibrous concrete. The extrusion process caused a reorientation of originally randomly-oriented fibers toward an alignment parallel to the axis of extrusion, which is favorable with respect to flexural strengthening. An asbestos-cement filler provided a matrix strengthened by the addition of both glass and steel fibers. Clay fillers were weaker.
