Title: Effect of pruning on growth, fruiting and fruit quality of ber (Zizyphus mauritiana Lam.).
Abstract: The present investigation was carried out on thirteen year old ber trees cv. Banarasi Karaka of uniform vigour. The length and diameter of shoots of severely pruned trees was maximum. The fruit set and retention also decreased as the severity of pruning increased, weight and size of fruits improved significantly as the intensity of pruning levels increased. The fruit yield was more in the light pruning trees. The quality of fruits improved due to pruning effect.
