Title: A novel method to simulate the electromagnetic susceptibility problem
Abstract: The modified finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method, generalized total-field/scattered-field (G-TF/SF) FDTD is applied to compute the response of an interconnect illuminated by an external electromagnetic field. This method is also extended from 2D to 3D. The current distributions on the strips are presented and in good agreement with the data computed via the moment methods. The simulation result indicates that this method is fast and accurate for the infinite scatterer problem. The method to be fully developed is intended to model and simulate the problem of electromagnetic susceptibility with an external excitation source. The paper presents the algorithm development and the preliminary results generated.
