Title: Accounting Concepts and Organizational Strategy
Abstract: In many organizations today, a project must meet a minimum requirement for rate of return, before it can be considered for internal funding. This is known as internal rate of return (IRR) which is calculated with the respect of net present value (NPV). If the NPV shows a positive number, then the project will be a profitable and indicate acceptance of this investment. Indicating the value of an investment lies among the organization strategies. These Strategies will define the business mission and the processes used to accomplish organizational goals through planning, organizing, directing and controlling organizational objectives. This report reviews accounting concepts and net present value method. It concludes with how organizational strategy, long term plans and performance measures can be interrelated in all profit orientated organizations
