Abstract: ABSTRACT Numerous stylolites are developed at high angles to bedding along joints in the near-reef limestone beds of the Bell Canyon formation at the front of the Guadelupe Mountains, Texas and New Mexico. Pressure and solution, after lithification, is clearly the cause of these secondary features.
