Abstract: The dielectric properties of Y2Cu2O5+δ samples have been investigated using the capacitance C(T, w) and dissipation factor D(T,w) measurements with the test frequency w in the range 20 to 1 MHZ and at temperature T between 5 K and 325 K. We observed that for T = 220 K, a linear relation of In C vs 1/T can be observed. From the sIope of 1n C vs 1/T curves, the activation energies of about 0.16 eV can be obtained for this compound. In addition, a frequency depedent peak in the D(T,w) curve was observed for T ≥ 280 K. No appreciable change were found in both C(T,w) and D(T,w) curves near T = 13 K and 6 K, the temperatures at which antiferromagnetic ordering were reported for this compound.
