Title: Matrix Effects in Liquid Chromatography–Electrospray Ionization–Mass Spectrometry
Abstract: This chapter is overviews strategies for detecting, reducing, avoiding and compensating matrix effects in LC–ESI–MS analysis of pesticide residues. The causes and the underlying mechanisms of matrix effects are also discussed. It is demonstrated that an intelligent detection of matrix effects in combination with some additional measures offers a simple way to moderate or alleviate the complications caused by matrix effects.
