Title: High-resolution measurements and multichannel quantum defect analysis of spectral line shapes of autoionizing Rydberg series
Abstract: Spectral line shapes for autoionizing Rydberg series are briefly reviewed within the framework of multichannel quantum defect theory (MQDT). Recent high-resolution measurements and MQDT analysis for the spectra line shapes are reviewed for the mp5(2P1/2)ns′ and nd′J=1 odd spectra of the Ar, Kr, and Xe atoms (m=3,4,5 for Ar, Kr, and Xe) and the 3p5(2P1/2)nd′ J=2 and 3 odd spectra of Ar*3p54p excited atoms. Some results are also discussed for the Ca 4p(2P1/2,3/2)ns and nd J=1 odd spectrum and the Ba 5d(2P5/2)nd J=1 odd spectrum.
