Title: Stability and safety of ships : risk of capsizing
Abstract: This book deals with the many modern approaches that have been developed for analyzing ship dynamic stability and capsizing. The emphasis of the book is on the probabilistic assessment stability. However, in order to evaluate ship dynamic stability and capsizing the reader must first formulate the nonlinear ship dynamic problem. The book raises the level of understanding of ship dynamic stability research to that of hydrodynamics and structures, and it paves the way to consideration of ship stability safety as one aspect of the up-and-coming discipline of nonlinear dynamics of ships.
