Title: Insecticidal Control of Amrasca Biguttula Biguttula on Okra
Abstract: Efficacy of 10 insecticides (9 emulsifiable concentrates and one wet table powder) was evaluated in the field aganistl cotton jassid Amarasca biguttula biguttula infesting okra. Dimethoate (0.03%) and endosulfan (0.035%) showed knock down tffect and registered 88 and 84 per cent jassids mortality within 24 hours of their application and their toxicity persisted upto 14 days. Parathion (0.03%) and phosphamicon (0.3%) remained effective up 10 21 days of their application. As picking of okra fruits is done at short intervals and beings consumed by human being from health point of view dimethoate and endosulfan should be preferred for the control pest.
