Abstract: Combined with existing gas turbines, a new, simplified steam-turbine system - factory-assembled and skid-mounted so that small gas plants with limited manpower can install and operate it - uses 30% less fuel by supplementing the primary turbine power or by separately generating electricity. The package includes deionization to remove dissolved solids; the use of special metallurgy in the steam generator tubes minimizes the feedwater treatment required. The process needs no pH or oxygen-content control. The steam system pays for itself within 2 years (excluding installation costs).
