Abstract: The purpose of this article is to bring a subject to light when and how the Dionysus cult in Thebes was founded. First of all, I try to show the influence of the myth about Osiris upon the Greek Dionysian myth. Especially the regions which Dionysus conquered are almost same as those into which Osiris made expeditions. Dionysian myth can divided into two parts, one concerning Dionysus cult and the other concerning the Dionysian expeditions. I suggest that the regions which Dionysus or Osiris conquered were regions into which figure relating to Dionysus or Osiris made expeditions. In Chapter 4 'Osiris and Pharaoh Sesostris', which is greatly influenced by Martin Bernal's Black Athena Ⅱ(especially chapters 5, 6 on Sesostris), I try to show that the regions into which Osiris made expeditions are almost same as those into which Sesostris, one of the pharaohs in the Twelfth Dynasty(1985-1773 BC), made expeditions, who especially conquered Thracia (Dionysus also conquered Thracia), and that the Osiris religion(or Dionysus cult) was introduced into Thracia by Sesostris, and was founded in Thebes around the 14th century BC by Orpheus the Thracian.
