Abstract: During most than last twenty five years, stating the study on relationship between the cinema and the history, people come to know the fact that the study on cinema gets the important position. People made a research basically from the study of the cinema history which was chronical cinema study to the study of the cinema industry and the cinematic economic history. And from the analytic study of the cinema historical character to the individual study of the whole cinematic image, people made a many-sided cinema research. Now we realized that the cinema is a independent art and Simultaneously is a means of study on social science. So carrying through its scope of activity firmly, the cinema meets new area of re-standing the study of methods between cinema and history. Besides in the theory cinema, historical methode of the cinema gets the film to the position of grammatical side of the cinema or phenomenological. This essay has a basic theorical study of the theory of Marc Ferro (Paris: Ecole des Hautes Etudes Sciences Sociales). But the subject of the main theory of this essay is understanding the cinema correctly with a frame of the historical side and the study of historical character in the cinema through the cinema analysis on the study cinema not history. Organized with two parts, this essay will discuss the direction of both two parts simultaneously. We may choose that the cinema of the subject of the historical study is the cinema of the Eisenstein. He devoted himself to establish the cinematic grammar to fix the cinema as a independent art. However, he was a film producer who had always much interest in historical subject matter cinema. Besides analysizing his films, we can see the above both sides. In this respects, I'll restrict the range of the study to the two films of the Eisenstein related to the Russian Revolution. Watching his two films of Russian Revolution, concerning about Battleship Potemkin and October, he managed the Russia Revolution of the early stage of the twenty century. At first, in historical respects I'll research the history of at that time which is in cinema or in background of cinema and methodology study on the history through the cinema. Namely, the subtitle of first half of this essay is an investigation of the cinema system between the time of Russian Revolution and the after the Revolution which is the background of the Eisenstein's cinema. Secondly, I'll recherche the relation of the history and the cinema of the Eisenstein. Namely the second half of this essay, I'll say the subtitle of the second half of this essay is the individuality and the influence of the cinema. Therefore, in the first half of this essay I gave the priority to the general Russian history and the historical view of the contemporary Eisenstein. And the second half of this essay, I'll research the history through the released cinema. In fact, the cinema doesn't have the intention to transmit the history itself even though the historical cinema. The main object of this essay is the exact explanation of the familiar relationship of the cinema and the society through the sociological explanation of the cinema.
