Abstract: Abstract This paper presents an overview of the influence of gender in the supervisory dyad. The dynamics of overall conversational styles between genders, gender-specific influences strategies, leadership styles, and the effects of sexuality and sexual harassment are addressed. Implications are drawn from other fields, and suggestions are made for supervisors to diminish the potential effect of gender on the supervisory dyad.
