Title: The RFID Effectiveness Statistical Analysis Tool (RESAT) for Comparing RFID and Barcode in Logistics Operations
Abstract: The introduction of RFID (radio frequency identification) should improve the operating effectiveness throughout supply chains. However, any decision to adopt a RFID system without a clear objective analysis of its effectiveness in an uncertain business environment confers severe risks. This paper introduces the RFID effectiveness statistical analysis tool (RESAT), which compares the effectiveness of RFID with that of barcode. We expect that RESAT will be used as a support tool when companies consider adopting RFID.
