Title: Comparative Study on Distribution of Bombesin-, Neurotensin- and α-Endorphin-Like Immunoreactivities in Canine Tissues
Abstract: Bombesin and neurotensin, which have recently been found in both brain and intestine tissues, were originally isolated from frog skin (Anastasi et al., 1971) and from bovine hypothalamus (Carraway and Leeman, 1973 and 1975), respectively. Both the peptides have been reported to show a wide spectrum of actions in mammals. Neurotensin possesses pharmacological actions which are similar to those of the mammalian plasma kinins. Bombesin is also known to possess a variety of actions on isolated smooth muscle preparations and cardiovascular system (Nelchiorri, 1978). It has recently reported that bombesin and neurotensin show potent action on thermoregulation (Brown et al., 1977).
