Title: Chaotic behavior of two-phase chemical reacting systems
Abstract: The dynamic behavior of a highly non-linear two-phase system in a continuous stirred tank reactor is investigated. The gas-liquid system has been shown to display chaotic dynamics induced by cooling effect. The possible bifurcation scenarios of period doubling, crises and type I intermittency (tangent bifurcation) are discussed. The results are Illustrated using the Poincare bifurcation diagrams, iterate maps, Lyapunov exponents and fractal dimensions. The present chaotic analysis for the exemplified parameter space can allow us to understand previously unpredictable events and provides valuable information about the possibility of enhancing the performance of such complicated system by suppressing and controlling the deterministic chaos and its associated complexity.
