Abstract: A moderate energy Van de Graaff accelerator was developed for use as a laboratory neutron source. The T(d,n) and D(d,n) reactions are used. Maximum performance of the accelerator is 150 mu amp continuous deuteriumion beam at 400 kv. Tritium and deuterium absorbed in Ti have been used as targets. Total fast neutron output as a function of accelerator voltage was measured for both reactions with a BF/sub 3/ long counter, commercial fast neutron monitor, and sulfur activation. (W.D. M.)
