Abstract: Barium sulphate is a commonly used agent in the radiographic studies of the gastrointestinal tract and has been regarded as a safe contrast medium. Barium sulphate allergy is very rare. We present a case of barium sulphate allergy which occurred during an upper gastrointestinal study in a 24-year-old woman.
