Title: The Interview: Afghan Translators, Omari and Assadullah - Interview from Sunday Nights NLR - (ABC)
Abstract: More than 500 Afghan interpreters and their families were evacuated from Afghanistan after working with Australian troops during the war, and coming under threat from the Taliban. They have residency in Australia, but not citizenship, and so can barely earn a living, as they are not permitted to work for the defence forces here. We meet two Afghan interpreters living now in Newcastle.
