Abstract: This chapter discusses three types of communication: written, oral, and graphical. Some of the major principles of good communication are pointed out here and it also provides some practical tips as well as guidelines that will help young engineers get their communication efforts off to a better start. Because so many design and manufacturing courses involve project work in which students are required to submit written reports along with drawings, and to present the results of their work orally, the readers are strongly urged to practice for effective communication.
