Abstract: Speakers at the EGSMA fall meeting in Des Plaines, Ill. issued a challenge for members to ''identify your new markets created by an energy revolution--a revolution which will see changes in the sources of energy used in all sectors, changes in the manner in which power is used, changes in the wasteful practices which have depleted our native fossil fuels.'' To meet these and other challenges, Paul D. Gilson (FEA) told the industry it must take an active and leading interest in improving the thermal and the mechanical efficiency of engines, generators, and the ancillary equipment. Every Btu available for power conversion is precious and must be put to wise and efficient use. Cordell Reed from Commonwealth Edison Co. commented at the meeting that the solution to the energy crisis is to ''rely on coal and uranium to take care of our energy needs through the turn of the century. Neither one will be sufficient by itself. We need both and all of the conservation we can practice without costing jobs. Other speakers quoted in the article included Ed. B. Hudgens, Jr.; I. L. Davidson; and John F. Brownlee, Jr. (MCW)
