Abstract: The OECD publishes in July and December each year in the Economic Outlook a set of economic forecasts covering each OECD country and major world zones. A key feature of these forecasts is that they are internationally consistent as regards both volumes and prices. The forecasts are accompanied by detailed text describing the forecasts and analysing economic developments in the OECD and elsewhere, and a broad description is given, at the back of the Economic Outlook, of how the forecasts are made. Nevertheless, there are periodic requests for greater detail about the forecasting exercise, and this paper is a response to those requests.
