Title: PROTEIN INHIBITOR OF CYCLIC NUCLEOTIDE PHOSPHODIESTERASE IN RETINA: COUPLING WITH THE ENZYME
Abstract: The data are presented that the protein inhibitor of phosphodiesterase earlier discovered in the cattle retina (Ref. 1, 2) is found in that of other animals. In retina of the rat with hereditary degenerated photoreceptor layer the inhibitor was almost lacking (Ref. 3). Like phosphodiesterase, the inhibitor is shown to be localized in outer segments of the photoreceptor cells (Ref. 4). Different methods for protein separation followed in purifying phosphodiesterase of outer segments gave no results in separating the inhibitor from the enzyme.
