Title: Are banks still institutions of public trust?
Abstract: In the general opinion banks are seen as institutions of public trust. This trust was put to the test during the financial crisis in 2008. Moreover, banks often provided additional arguments to treat them as the lack of trust institutions, examples of which are shown in this article. However this was not confirmed by the results of studies over the level of trust that the Polish customers have in such institutions. Without a clear answer remains the question of whether banks deserve or do not deserve to be called public trust institutions.
