Title: RECENT TRENDS TO REDUCE SHRINKAGE CRACKING IN CONCRETE PAVEMENTS
Abstract: Cracking in pavement is often a result of drying shrinkage. This paper summarizes test methods to assess shrinkage cracking due to restraint including bar, plate, and ring specimens. In addition techniques which can reduce the potential for shrinkage cracking are presented including fiber reinforcement, shrinkage compensating concrete, and a newly developed shrinkage reducing admixture.
