Title: Contents of Photosynthetic Pigments in a New Cultivar Bred by Interspecific Crossing between Porphyra tenera and P. yezoensis (Bangiales, Rhodophyta): Preliminary report
Abstract: Contents of photosynthetic pigments in a new cultivar (abbreviation: TGZRW) bred by interspecific crossing between Porphyra tenera and P. yezoensis were measured. All contents of chlorophyll a, phycoerythrin and total pigments, and almost all content of carotenoid and phycocyanin were more abundant in the TGZRW than in the growers' cultivars. These results represent that the TGZRW is better quality in taste and color than the growers' one.
