Abstract: The Calliope Roads Alliance (CRA) project was effectively five separate road projects, which when combined, required approximately 16 kilometres of road infrastructure upgrades to be constructed to service heavy industry in the Calliope region. As the Main Roads Department and local governments move into an era of alliances, partnerships and resource sharing, the Calliope Roads Alliance, an alliance between Calliope Shire Council and RoadTek, a commercialised business unit of the Main Roads Department, represents the best example of federal, state and local governments working proactively together to deliver quality infrastructure that is of regional and national importance.
