Abstract: Myiasis (fly larva infestation of human tissue) continues to be diagnosed in the United States. The pathogenesis depends on the species of fly involved. Myiasis can easily be misdiagnosed, since it mimics several common conditions, such as adenopathy, cellulitis, skin abscess, insect bites and subcutaneous cysts.
