Title: Esthetic repair of secondary deformities of unilateral cleft lip
Abstract: Objective To explore the relationships between secondary deformities of unilateral cleft lip and selection of mode of initial operation,as well as strategy of esthetic repair for cleft lip.Methods 120 cases of secondary deformities of unilateral cleft lip were selected and grouped according to initial adopted modes of different operation.The deformities of lip and nose were observed and analysed in order tO make esthetic repair with individualized design.After repair with upper triangle flap,rectangle flap,Millard's and Tennison's procedures for secondary deformities of unilateral cleft lip.shape of phihrum dimple,scar,and resumption of shape of cupid's bow were observed and compared.Results Millard's and upper triangle petal's methods were better than Tcnnison's and rectangle flap methods.Conclusion Initially adopted operation mode for unilateral cleft lip has remarkably affected the repair of secondary defortuities.
