Title: OQAS system analysis of visual and optical performance of three kinds of multifocal IOLs
Abstract: Objective To compare the visual and optical performance caused by different kinds of multifocal IOLs using OQAS system. Methods In a prospective non-radomized trial,34 eyes of patients for cataract surgery were offered SN6AD1,Acri.Lisa 366D,Tecnis ZMA00 three kinds of multifocal IOLs.Three months postoperatively, all of the subjects, straylight on the retina,MTF Cut off,Contrast Visual Acuity and Strehl ratio were measured with OQAS system. The normal group was used as the control group. Results The respective mean Objective Scatter Index measurements for SN6AD1,ZMA00 and Acri.Lisa 366D groups were 3.18±1.19,2.57±1.12 and 2.56±1.35,which showed statistically significant differences (F =1.592,P =0.042).The Acri.Lisa 366D groups with MTF cutoff and SR values were higher than the other groups, but no statistically significant differences (P =0.127).The mean Contrast Visual Acuity measurements for groups showed no statistically significant differences (P =0.325,0.268 and 0.222).Compared to the normal group, the visual and optical performance measurements for other groups had no significantly difference (P >0.05).Conclusions The three kinds of multifocal IOLs implantation are both safe and effective. The OQAS has been widely used to investigate optical quality in patients implanted with multifocal IOLs.
