This chapter focuses on the combinatorial constructions and coding. Certain combinatorial structures have played a significant role in coding theory. The chapter presents a reasonably self-contained account of these structures, their interrelationships, and their relationships to codes. This is a consequence of the principle of duality, which follows from these axioms. The number of points on any line in a projective plane is a constant that equals the number of lines intersecting in a given point. One of the simplest projective geometries is the Fano geometry, which is a projective plane of order two. The interesting property of the above construction technique is that, up to isomorphism, all finite projective geometries of dimension three or greater can be obtained in this manner. All finite projective geometries of dimension greater than two have the property and are called Desarguesian.
