Title : An Analysis of Students’ Anxiety in Speaking Performance (Library Research)

This research is a library research which is written in order to find the factors of anxiety that hindered students in speaking performance. The data used for this study were related findings about anxiety. The data for the present study were collected from various sources including previous studies, journals, articles and books. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that there are several factors contribute to anxiety that experienced by students in learning speaking; personal and interpersonal anxieties; learner beliefs about language learning; instructor beliefs about language teaching; instructor-learner interactions; classroom procedures; language testing; non-comprehension, speaking activities, instructional practices, and error corrections. In conclusion, anxiety is influenced by four categories; students’ understanding and belief, teachers’ perspective, teacher-students interactions, and classroom procedures. To help students reduce anxiety, teachers are expected to be more cautious about the factors, and help students in overcoming the factors.
