Title: The Effect of Match-fixing Scandal of Korean Professional Soccer on Record of Regular League and Gate of K-League
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of match-fixing scandal of korean professional soccer on record of regular league and gate of K-league. This study analyzed data chose from 240 game match report, record of regular league and players number of permanent banned from the Korea Football Association. For the purpose of this study, descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test and regression analysis were performed. The research results of this study were as follow: First, according to before and after the mass media report of match-fixing scandal, the gate of K-league showed significant difference. Second, according to the group of K-league team, the home game gate of K-league did not show significant difference before the mass media report of match-fixing scandal. However, the home game gate of K-league showed significant difference at after the mass media report of match-fixing scandal. Third, the analysis of team A, number of permanent banned players had not a significant influence on record of regular league. However, the analysis of team B, number of permanent banned players had a significant influence on record of regular league. Fourth, analysis of before the mass media report of match-fixing scandal, number of permanent banned players had not a significant influence on mean gate of K-league. However, analysis of after the mass media report of match-fixing scandal, number of permanent banned players had a significant influence on gate of K-league. Finally, record of regular league had a significant influence on mean gate of K-league.
