Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the energy consumption expenditures of the poor household in Thailand. Secondary data from 2006 and 2011 the Socio-economic survey compiled by the Statistical Office were employed to this study. This study categorized households into three groups by the official poverty line, which including 1) poor household 2) close to poor household and 3) not poor household. Results showed that in 2011 the poor household had approximately 43.01, 39.73, 3.16 and 3.00 percent on benzene, electricity, cooking gas and diesel consumption expenditures to their total energy consumption expenditures per capita, respectively. Therefore, this study suggests that Thai government should implemented the benzene living cost reduction program to help the poor household and also to revised the diesel subsidization program, because that program were mostly favored to the rich household and the entrepreneur.
