Abstract: Interlinear morphemic glosses facilitate the comprehension and analysis of any described language, even one that is unfamiliar to the reader. In Semitic studies, most publications do not include glosses, forcing readers to analyse the examples in order to understand them. This paper examines Moroccan Arabic and Modern Hebrew, and proposes the use of interlinear morphemic glosses within the typological grammatical tradition, for Semitic linguistics in general.
