Title: n-Butanol Synthesis from Ethanol on Hydroxyapatite
Abstract: n-Butanol was directly synthesized from ethanol on nonstoichiometric hydroxyapatite (Ca10-Z(HPO4)Z(PO4)6-Z(OH)2-Z n H2O; 0 < Z ≤ 1, n = 0 ~ 2.5: HAP). The selectivity and the yield of η-Dutano 1 strongly depended on contact time. The hydroxyapatite catalyzed selective ethanol conversion to n-butano 1 with maximum selectivity of 76%. When this is assumed to be a second-order reaction, the simulation plot of the reaction fits the experimental data well.
