Title: Progresses of 3T MRI biochemical composition imaging in articular cartilage
Abstract: In recent years, 3 T MRI system is growing so rapidly that it has been widely used in the diagnosis and evaluation of the curative efficacy of cartilage lesions. The various imaging sequences of cartilage are being developed and applied constantly. Nowadays it begins to transform from traditional two dimensional and three dimensional morphological imaging to biochemical composition imaging. The biochemical composition imaging can show the biochemical changes prior to morphological changes of cartilage and provide clinical references about early diagnosis and monitoring of cartilage damage. At present, the biochemical composition imaging technology of articular cartilage includes T2 mapping, T2* mapping,T1ρ, etc. In this paper, we reviewed the applications and progresses of 3 T MRI biochemical composition imaging in articular cartilage.
