Title: The cerebrospinal fluid cytology and clinical characteristics of elderly patients with tuberculous meningitis
Abstract: Objective To probe the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and clinical features of tuberculous meningitis in the aged TBM patients. Methods To collect the CSF on glass slice by centrifugal slide instrument sediment. Results Lymphocytes predominated in CSF of 32 cases (76.2%) at early. A mixed-cell response was showed in the course of the disease. Neutrophils deceased and disappeared rapidly,activated lymphocytes and monocytes existed with effective cure after the treatment. Conclusion CSF finding was atypical with42 aged patients who suffered from TBM ,The dynamic change of CSF has the important clinical value on the curative effect observation and the prognosrs judgment to TBM in aged people.
