Title: Efficacy analysis of improved wall mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty for chronic otitis mastoidea
Abstract: Objective: To investigate efficacy of improved wall mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty for chronic otitis mastoidea.Methods: Characters of wall mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty in 72 patients with chronic otitis mastoidea that underwent the surgery were analyzed.Results: Patients were observe for 6 months,improvements in hearing threshold for patients ascribed as cholesteatoma type,bone lesion type and mixed type were significant greater than before undergoing the operation,of which the maximum improvements was observed in cholesteatoma type patients(84.0%),which was followed by bone lesion type(71.0%) and mixed type(62.5%).Within 3 months after undergping the operation,all secretions disappeared in all these patients.Conclusion: Improved wall mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty can remove lesions and reserve the organizational structure of the middle ear transmission,it also can help to dry ear and improve hearing.
