Title: Finite Element Analysis of Prestressed Reinforced Concrete Light Rail Bridge
Abstract: The stress distribution and dimensional work performance were studied by finite element method. An equivalent load method for prestress, laminated model of reinforcing steel bar in prestressed concrete were investigated. The geometry model including the toothed board, peephole were built. The material properties of concrete and steel were specified in AYSYS model and the design loads of the bridge were analyzed and transformed into the FEM code. The prestressed effects were calculated by equivalent load method based on Moorman's formula. The numerical computations were carried out with considerations of curve or linear prestress steel rebar, gravity, static loads and varying loads of the rails of the bridge. The results show that there exist lower compression stresses and very few tension stresses during light rail operations and the prestress plays a major role in the strength of the bridge while the reinforced steel bar only bear the local bending stress and shear stress effectively.
