Title: Influence of the mode of nutrition education on K-A-P about calcium nutrition in pupils
Abstract: Objective To study the influence of different modes of nutrition education on the calcium nutrition knowledge,attitude and behavior(K-A-P) in pupils.?Methods Third-to-fifth-grade pupils drawn from four primary schools in Xuzhou using cluster sampling method,were divided into four groups according to the principle of factorial design to implement different-mode education.?Results There was interaction among pupils and their parents on K-A-P about calcium nutrition.The knowledge,attitude and behavior of the pupils in the group where both the pupils and their parents had attended the nutrition education,were improved significantly.The 95% confidence interval(95%CI) of the scores of knowledge before and after intervention were 0.441-0.464 vs 0.583-0.561;that of attitude,0.684-0.723 vs 0.743-0.780;and that of behavior,2.835-(2.940) vs 3.080-3.180.?Conclusion To implement nutrition education among both pupils and their parents is the preferable approach in promoting nutrition health among pupils.
