Title: Evaluation of the effectiveness of health education intervention on rational medication among residents in Zhejiang
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effect of health education intervention on rational usage of drugs among residents in Zhejiang,and to provide evidence for making effective public health policies.Methods Health education intervention was conducted among residents aged 18-60 years from 12 communities or villages in 3 counties of Zhejiang province.The effect of intervention was evaluated by questionnaire survey.Results The awareness rate of knowledge related to drug usage among residents was 66.00%,and 55.38% of subjects could recognize the misusage of drugs.There were 8.03%,18.62%,34.83% and 35.15% of residents who knew how to store drugs,checked up on drugs regularly,could handle out-of-date medicine and treat side effects properly.After intervention,the above percentages all went up dramatically.Conclusions Health education intervention can effectively improve the awareness of rational usage of drugs among residents in Zhejiang.
