Title: The diagnostic efficacy of multi-slice spiral CT high-resolution and overlapping scanning in nasal bone fracture
Abstract: ObjectiveTo study the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT high-resolution and overlapping scaning in nasal bone fracture. Methods 74 cases of nasal trauma were examined by spiral CT high-resolution and overlapping scaning test with MPR and 3D reconstruction. The scanning region ranged from the upper teeth to superior edge of the orbit.Coronal-CT imaging was performed in 8 patients in order to compare with that of HRCT and 3D CT images. Results In 74 cases of fracture of nasal bone and contiguity, fracture of bilateral nasal bone was found in 28 cases, fracture of the unilateral nasal bone in 37 cases, fracture of the frontal process of maxillary bone in 46 cases, fracture of orbital walls and fracture of nasal septum in 13 cases. Conclusion Multi-slice spiral CT high-resolution and overlapping scaning could accurately display the bony details in the nasai region including location, extent and secondary complex fractures.
