Title: Study on the clinical effect of swimming training in premature infants
Abstract: objective To observe the clinical effect of swimming training on the growth and development in premature infants during hospitalization. Methods 76 cases of premature infants,whose gestational age was from 32 to 36 weeks and whose birth weight was more than 2 000 g, were divided into two groups. Infants in observing group began swimming training from the second day after birth,while the infants in cotrol group were only received routine bath. Results There was significant differences in weight gain,sleeping time, meconium exhausting time in observing group compared with those in control group (P 0. 01 ). There were no signs of common colds, fever and umbilical infection in two groups. Conclusion Swimming can promote premature infants to gain weight,increase their sleeping time and make meconium exhausting time ahead of schedule.
