Abstract:Younian dialect in Heping Township Longsheng County Guangxi has 22 initial consonants,37 vowels and 5 tones.Its main characteristics of the phonetic system are as follows: Most Xin read as[k];Most Shu...Younian dialect in Heping Township Longsheng County Guangxi has 22 initial consonants,37 vowels and 5 tones.Its main characteristics of the phonetic system are as follows: Most Xin read as[k];Most Shu Rusheng read as[];Most Jian read as[k];Xia read as[x],most staying unchanged.Most nasal,lateral initial consonants and semi-vowels are read as[¢] except Ming, Ni, Lai. In vowels,there is no plosive ending.Most of the sound emerge into.In tones,there is no plosive-ending tone.The falling-rising tone does not split into positive(Yin) and negative(Yang) registers,but the level tone and the falling tone are mostly divided into the positive and negative registers in the light of voiced and voiceless initial consonants.The early Mandarin loanwords accord more with the tone category,whereas the late Mandarin loanwords adapt more to the tone contour.Read More
