Title: Roles of clinical pharmacists in prophylactic use of antibiotics during perioperative period in department of general surgery
Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the roles of clinical pharmacists in prophylactic use of antibiotics during perioperative period in department of general surgery.Methods: Cluster cases of type I incision operation were selected,and divided into two groups,one was before and another was after pharmacists' involvement in clinical medication.The data of medication in two groups were collected and compared.Results: After clinical pharmacists' involvement in drug treatment,application rate of antibiotics decreased from 100.00% to 46.30%(P0.05) and the frequency of medication decreased from 1.65 times per case to 0.67 times per case.The rational application rate of antibiotics was significantly increased from 0.00% to 69.44%(P0.05).Unreasonable application manifestations of perioperative antibiotics were reduced,and the average cost of antibiotics declined from 988.17 yuan to 118.50 yuan after pharmacists involve into clinical medication treatment.Conclusion: The clinical pharmacists' in-depth participation in drug treatment will effectively improve the perioperative rational use of antibiotics,and also provided a useful reference to further investigations for the mode of clinical pharmacists' work.
