Title: Effect of reservoir pressure on development result of steam drive
Abstract: Method The effect of reservoir pressure on development result of steam drive is studied in this paper by means of numerical simulation. Purpose To improve the developmentresult of steam drive in heavy oil reservoirs. Result With the same steam quality at wellheads, the higher the reservoir pressure is, the lower the steam quality at bottom hole is.Excessive high reservoir pressure ( 8 MPa) will evidently lead to poor result of steamdrive, or even the failure of steam drive development plan. Generally, the reservoir pressurefor successful steam drive is 1~5 MPa. Conclusion During steam injection, bottom holesteam quality is directly affected by injection pressure. In order to keep lower reservoir pressure (1~5MPa) during steam drive, the production well must be clearly discharged. If necessary, the number of production wells may increase to assure the production-injection ratiois more than 1. 2.
