Title: Efficacy of duloxetine combined with cognitive therapy in the treatment for depression comorbid with diabetes
Abstract: Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of duloxetine combined with cognitive therapy in the treatment of depression comorbid with diabetes. Methods 86 depressive patients comorbid with diabetes were randomly assigned into study group treated with duloxetine combined with cognitive therapy and control group treated with duloxetine monotherapy for 8 weeks. The curative effects and adverse reactions were assessed with the Hamilton depression scale(HAMD),clinical general impression(CGI) and treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS) respectively at baseline and the end of the 1st,2nd,4th,8th week. Results Sores of HAMD and CGI decreased significantly at the end of 2nd week of the treatment in both groups(P0.01).Therapeutic effect appeared at the end of the 1st week in study group(P0.01).There were significant differences in scores of HAMD and CGI between the two groups at the end of the 1st,2nd,4th,8th week of the treatment(P0.01).Scores of HAMD and CGI decreased more significantly in study group. There was significant difference in effective rate between study group and control group(81.40% vs.60.47%,P0.05),and there was no significant difference in side effects between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Duloxetine combined with cognitive therapy can promote curative effect and shorten the course in the treatment of depression comorbid with diabetes.
